A couple of years ago I was very lucky to be sent on a trip to Washington DC for work. So not only did I get to network with some of our international contacts, it also meant I got to explore a city I had been wanting to visit!
I had been watching the TV show Scandal for a while and it definitely helped add to the fact it was a City I wanted to visit. There is a lot of history and culture in Washington DC and I love that! I also really enjoyed that it didn't feel like a City in the same sense as London does. There are times in London where I can sometimes feel overwhelmed with how busy it is especially whilst travelling around, but I never felt like that whilst I was in Washington.
When it comes to food I cannot recommend many places as it was a work trip and I went to pre-planned places where the parties and events were held. However, I did see many interesting restaurants on my travels.
My favourite part of the whole trip was exploring the Washington Monuments! I'd always wanted to see the Lincoln Memorial and on my free Saturday I walked from my hotel (getting lost along the way and discovering cute streets and houses!) down to the Monuments and the White House.
