A Trip to Alanya

Yet again this is another post about a trip from a while ago (its difficult to travel when you have a baby though let's be honest 😅).

Alanya in Turkey is somewhere that I've been to quite a few times as its where my parents go due to family friends living there. I absolutely love Alanya as it feels like an old friend every time we go there. There are gorgeous views and of course gorgeous weather but there are loads of excursions you can do here too.

Over the years I've done just about all of the excursions they offer from the boat trip along the coast of Alanya, the Manavgat River Cruise, White Water Rafting (although this is closer to Antalya than Alanya as we did travel a while for this) and many others!

Alanya also has Castle ruins that boasts incredible views along the coast and out of the harbour. There is also the Red Tower in the harbour you can go and explore, and there is also the Damlatas cave. In recent years they have introduced a cable car that goes to and from the Castle which again allows you to spend time admiring the incredible views.

Cleopatra beach is a stunning beach to enjoy the days on. If you do not stay in a hotel on the beach there are different places that allow you access to both the beach behind them and their beach pool, one such place is Aladdins and its a lovely place to chill and have food and drink, there is a cost to use their facilities of course but I'd say it was worth it.

There are an abundance of restaurants to choose from and you cannot go wrong trying the Turkish dishes as they are delicious! One of my favourite meals is Lahmacun 🤤 and another is Iskender (if you go to Turkey please try these 2 meals at least!).

Our family friends who live in Turkey run a couple of premises that are welcoming and really good! If you wanted to visit them then they are: Crusoe Restaurant, China Royal and Big Ben.

I cannot wait until our little one is old enough for us to take a trip to Alanya to meet everyone we know there. For now enjoy these photos from my visits.
